Spring is now in full swing, which means Summer will be here before you know it! This can only mean one thing; warm weather hair trends are here, and some of them might surprise you! Many different styles are going to be on-trend this year, so you are sure to find something that is just right for you; you might even find that some of your favorite childhood hairdos are making a comeback. Here are 12 fantastic hair trends that you will see this summer.
Bangs are back this year, and curtain bangs are the latest way to wear them. Curtain bangs are parted in the middle and hang down on each side of the forehead like an open curtain. Check out J-Lo’s new do!
Yes, the mullet is back for women. Hair is short and layered in the front and on top but left longer in the back (or business in the front and party in the back as Billy Ray Cyrus would say). You’ve already seen some celebrities sporting this look, and you’ll see it on the streets this summer. We are LOVING Miley’s edgy mullet!
Buzz Cut for Women
Many women are going to go extremely short this year by going for a buzz cut. This super short style is often seen with colors like blue, purple, or pink.
Add one or two blonde streaks to darker hair to rock this trend. Sometimes the blonde streaks are seen framing the face, and other times they are further back on the hair. One blonde streak adds interest to your hair without completely changing your color.
The short bob is an easy style to handle and maintain, making it a popular choice for busy women. This bob is cut at the ear or higher.
This is a bob of shoulder length or higher that is cut longer on one side than it is on the other. Sometimes it is combined with a blonde streak or another coloring that highlights the longer side. It is also often paired with side-swept bangs.
The ponytail has a new look this summer. This style is easy to achieve. Simply make a standard ponytail and then add elastics every couple of inches and pull the hair in between into bubbles.
The shag is a haircut that was popular in the 90s and is seeing another moment in the spotlight. The shag cut is layered on top with wisps that frame the face and shoulder-length on the bottom. It is an attractive cut on almost every face shape. This year, Bobby Barnes is bringing the 90s back with this fun shag!
Hair color this season focuses on colors that are not naturally seen on hair. Colors like blue and lavender are extremely popular.
The single-length haircut is easy to maintain and doesn’t require many touch-up cuts. It works for shorter hair as well as long hair.
The hair accessory of the moment is the barrette worn on just one side. Sweep one side of your hair back and add one or two barrettes to hold it in place. Barrettes can be simple or sparkly, depending on your tastes.
Instead of curling the ends of your hair under, try flipping them up instead. This style was popular in the 60s and then again in the 90s. It’s back again for summer.
Summer hairstyle trends are going to be fun and sassy this year. Find one that appeals to you, and give it a try. When the weather gets warm, you are sure to be turning heads everywhere you go.
