When one thinks of Malibu – with all of its panache and intrigue – one doesn’t expect to be able to experience the City’s 27 miles of beauty on a budget. However, there are many deals to be found in Malibu.

Free Yoga with a Warm Sea Breeze

Porsche presents Stretch & Flow, complimentary, one-hour outdoor yoga sessions at Malibu Lumber Yard. Monday’s session starts at 10:30 a.m. with transformational coach Kat McGee @katmcgeeyoga, who trained while living in India with Swami Vishvketu. Thursday’s class begins at 9:30 with Mona Therese, @yogamona, an expert in Vinyasa Flow, restorative asana practice, and Pranayama. Recharge your mind, body & spirit as you breathe deeply on the enormous patio.

Porsche also hosts Yappy Hour every 1st Sunday from June 6 – August 1 from 3 to 5 p.m. Bring your pup and to the center courtyard and enjoy complimentary sips & small bites. This “pawfect” way to wind down from the weekend includes free entertainment. @malibulumeryard.

Free Breakfast

If you plan ahead, you can score a free breakfast at one of Malibu’s loveliest venues while helping with Malibu’s precious and precarious coastal environment. From Mondays to Thursdays from 9 a.m. to noon, help clean the beach and enjoy a free healthy, organic breakfast on the iconic Malibu Pier at world-renowned chef Helene Henderson’s Malibu Farm. @MalibuFarm.

On the west side, start your morning off with coffee from Vintage Grocers in Trancas Country Mart. @TrancasCountryMart. A large cup is $3.25, and refills cost $1.00 – a bargain in Malibu. The food bar offers a host of hot entrees for $10.99- perfect for a beach picnic! On Tuesdays, Vintage offers seniors a ten percent discount. After 8 p.m., sushi and poke are half-price.


Malibu Country Mart @MalibuCountryMart offers excellent window shopping, a playground, and a spacious picnicking area. Stretch a blanket out, leisurely lounge, and enjoy the people watching in the fresh ocean breeze. The Tesla showroom at The Park at Cross Creek offers free test drives of its various models. Check out the red Model 3 on the showroom floor and take a peek at the solar panels and solar roofs.

Get Your Greco-Roman On @ The Getty Villa

Step back in the past as you view antiquities housed in a re-created Roman country home & enjoy Greek and Roman architecture and art amidst lovely, lush gardens bedecked with fountains and sculptures. Admission is free and requires a timed-entry reservation.

Hiking, hiking, hiking!

The Malibu Lagoon is an expansive estuary offering leisurely strolls, stunning coastal views, and superb wildlife viewing ~ it’s heaven for birdwatchers! One can see everything from great blue herons, snowy egrets, and snowy plovers who nest right at the Lagoon – look for the little fences that cordon off areas where they nest. Take a leisurely stroll through Legacy Park – the only place in California to see four natural coastal habitats together. Riparian/wetlands, coastal bluffs, prairies, and native wetlands all coexist & a panoply of wildlife graces the area, and one can immerse in nature – Heaven!

In Western Malibu, go tidepool watching at Leo Carillo Beach and see starfish and sea urchins and sea anemones. Look up from the tidepools and explore the beach’s rock arches and sea caves. Watch the surfers, parasailers, and those with stand-up paddles and picnic on the beach. Grab a kite and make a day of it!

Spot Marine animals at Pt. Dume

Long-beaked dolphins, bottlenose dolphins & Pacific white-sided dolphins – they all frequent Malibu’s coastline! The Best Place to see them is Westward Beach or by hiking up the one-mile loop to the overlook at Pt. Dume.
