Brows Are Major Players.
Eyebrows are a key feature on everyone’s face. Not only do they shape your face, but they also protect your eyes to keep your vision clear. Eyebrows are used for nonverbal communication and help express emotions such as shock or anger. Although we are all blessed with eyebrows of different colors and shapes, today there are a handful of beauty treatments to shape, tint, and fill in missing gaps.
New at the Glamifornia Style Lounge is the beauty technique called microblading. Micoblading is a multi-treatment form up tattoo artistry that places pigment on the brow ridge to look like hair strokes. Unlike getting a tattoo where artists use tattoo guns, microblading is done through a smaller handheld tool. Another difference is that microblading does not put pigment as deep into the skin as a normal tattoo.
While microblading does not need much preparation, there are a few things you do need to know before booking in:
- Avoid taking any blood thinners or drinking a lot of alcohol up to one week before a treatment.
- Although some people are sensitive to minute pain, for most the treatment is not that painful. Most professionals use topical numbing creams and ointments to help with any discomfort.
- Similar to lash extensions, this process is not rushed. Prepare to give a few hours for the full treatment.
- Micoblading is a multi-treatment process.
Aftercare is very important after the treatment. Stay clear of water or over-perspiring and do your best to avoid scratching or wiping your face. Eyebrows may appear to be inflamed, but this is natural. They also may appear darker than expected, but the color will fade naturally.
